Man City ready €100m bid for Yan Diomande after Real Madrid enter race | OneFootball

Manchester City have joined the race to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande this summer, according to Sky Germany. 

The Citizens are considering sending their own bid after Leipzig knocked back approaches from Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Those two bids were rumoured to be around €100 million, but the German club is holding out for around €130 million.

They are also hoping they can get him to sign a new deal and stay for another year. But he is open to leaving. 

Diomande had eyes on a move to Paris Saint-Germain, but it appears they are not ready to cough up the sum required to sign him.

That leaves Man City and Real Madrid in the race for Diomande’s signature after a breakout campaign in which he bagged 13 goals and nine assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances. 

City could use another wide forward with Savinho on the verge of leaving for Tottenham Hotspur. Antoine Semenyo and Jeremy Doku have also blown hot and cold. 

Diomande would give Enzo Maresca’s side a different dimension in attack as they look to wrestle the Premier League crown back from Arsenal.

It remains unclear where the Ivory Coast international will end up, with several European giants pulling him in different directions. 

Real Madrid also need a right-sided winger with Franco Mastantuono failing to live up to the hype and Brahim Diaz looking to leave in search of playing time.

They briefly considered a move for Michael Olise before realising that Bayern Munich would not sell at any price, immediately giving up their pursuit.

Los Blancos are going all in for Diomande and Man City are not backing down either, setting up a fantastic transfer battle that could play out for weeks.

It is also worth noting that Liverpool and PSG can re-enter the race at any point and decide to match Leipzig’s fee. The decision, more or less, lies with the player.
