Another huge test for Tractor Boys
Premier League champions Manchester City this afternoon host Ipswich in another hugely difficult game for the newly promoted side.
Kieran McKenna’s side impressed in patches during their return to the top flight after a 22-year absence last week but could not ultimately hold off Arne Slot’s Liverpool.
Their schedule gets even harder this weekend as they travel to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday to face a City side who have been boosted by the return of Ilkay Gundogan.
City began their title defence with a 2-0 victory over Chelsea as they look to make it five consecutive League wins.
Man City vs Ipswich is scheduled for a 3pm BST kick-off time today, Saturday, August 24, 2024.
The Etihad Stadium in Manchester will host.
TV channel and live stream: The game will not be broadcast in the UK as it takes place during the 3pm blackout imposed across English football on Saturdays.
Highlights: BBC One’s Match of the Day, however, will broadcast highlights when it airs at 10.30pm after the game.
Man City XI: Ederson, Lewis, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol, Kovacic, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Savinho, Doku, Haaland
Subs: Ortega Moreno, Walker, Stones, Ake, Grealish, Gundogan, Nunes, Kabore, McAtee
Ipswich XI: Muric; Tuanzebe, Woolfenden, Greaves, Davis; Morsy, Luongo, Johnson, Szmodics, Hutchinson; Delap

It’s difficult to see how Ipswich get anything away at City, even if the champions do tend to start the season (relatively) slowly.
