Man City out to record a seventh straight win across all competitions
Manchester City face West Ham in their final game before Christmas with the chance to top of the Premier League table.
Man City begin the weekend in second in the standings, two points behind league leaders Arsenal and a point clear of third-placed Aston Villa.
Due to the scheduling of the Premier League fixtures this weekend, Pep Guardiola’s side will replace Arsenal at the summit if they beat the Hammers.
For Man City to be top of the tree on Christmas Day, they must avoid dropping points against West Ham and then hope the Gunners fail to beat Everton in the late game on Saturday.
West Ham, meanwhile, are on a run of five games without a win after a mini-revival under Nuno Espirito Santo, but have not lost any of their last three away from home.
Here’s everything you need to know about the game...
Man City vs West Ham is scheduled for a 3pm GMT kick-off on Saturday, December 20, 2025.
The match will take place at the Etihad Stadium.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will not be televised live as it lands during the 3pm Saturday blackout.
Free highlights: The Sky Sports app and YouTube channel will show highlights from 5.15pm GMT with Match of the Day broadcasting on BBC One at 10.20pm.
Pep Guardiola confirmed on Friday that Rodri, John Stones and Jeremy Doku will all miss the visit of the Hammers through injury.
In addition, Oscar Bobb is expected to miss out after picking up a knock in the Carabao Cup quarter-final win over Brentford on Wednesday night.
The quartet join long-term injury casualty Mateo Kovacic on the sidelines, while Omar Marmoush and Rayan Ait-Nouri are away on Africa Cup of Nations duty (AFCON).
Erling Haaland, Ruben Dias and Gianluigi Donnarumma were all rested for the midweek cup tie, so are expected to return. Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva and Josko Gvardiol are likely to be recalled.
West Ham head to Manchester without El Hadji Malick Diouf and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as the defensive pair have joined up with Senegal and DR Congo respectively for AFCON.
Kyle Walker-Peters and Ollie Scarles are in contention to start, and Niclas Fullkrug is back in training after missing the defeat to Aston Villa.

West Ham’s recent form on the road does raise the prospect of a surprise result here, but the loss of Diouf and Wan-Bisssaka is going to have a massive impact defensively.
Up against a refreshed Erling Haaland does spell danger for the Hammers and we expect Man City to cruise to victory, thus heaping the pressure on Arsenal.
Man City to win, 3-0.
Guardiola has never lost to West Ham as Man City manager in the Premier League. His only defeat against the Hammers was a penalty shootout loss in the League Cup in October 2021 after a goalless draw.
