Manchester City could give Rodri minutes in their final home game of the Premier League season as Bournemouth come to town.
The Ballon d’Or winner has been sidelined since September with a serious knee injury, but returned to training in April as he targets a key role in the Club World Cup, which begins in June.
Rodri is not expected to start as City bid to claim the three points needed to all but secure Champions League football next season, but could be named in the matchday squad.
With the likes of Mateo Kovacic, Nathan Ake, John Stones and Oscar Bobb all also working their way back to fitness, Guardiola was asked if any of the injured quintet could feature of Tuesday. He replied: “We’ll see. Some players are better. Rodri is even better day by day.”
Elsewhere, Kevin De Bruyne is gearing up for his final home game as a City player, but Guardiola did not go as far as guaranteeing the influential midfield would start the game.
Guardiola said: “Kevin wants us to win the game to qualify for the Champions League next season. This is what Kevin wants. I will pick the best team to win the game.
“Kevin will get what he deserves in the best moment for what he has done. What we have done would not be possible without Kevin.
Elsewhere, the likes of Savingo and Jeremy Doku will see their places under threat, while Rico Lewis and James McAtee will be pushing for action after being omitted from the matchday squad at Wembley.
