Pep Guardiola could be forced to rotate his Man City squad as they visit Brentford on Sunday.

They will have just three days off between their trip to west London and Wednesday night’s frustrating Champions League draw with Monaco.

Brentford come into the match off the back of their most convincing performance under Keith Andrews - a comfortable 3-1 defeat of Manchester United.

City will hope to avoid suffering the same fate at the hands of the plucky Bees, but it will not be a straightforward selection for Guardiola.

He is continuing to manage Rodri’s minutes as he builds strength back into an injured knee. The Spaniard completed 61 minutes against Monaco on Wednesday and could return to the starting lineup, but will not be likely to finish the full match.

Savinho was rested in Monaco, and should return in place of Jeremy Doku. Bernardo Silva could also return to the XI.

The twin No10s of Phil Foden and Tijjani Reijnders has proven effective in recent weeks, and will likely be reinstated.

Erling Haaland also extended his unbelievable scoring form in midweek, scoring both of City’s goals to take his record to 21 goals and assists in 10 appearances. With those numbers, he is simply undroppable.

Expect rotation at the back, though. John Stones played at right-back against Monaco, and will be replaced by Nico O’Reilly. Centre-back pairing Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias both completed 90 minutes in Monaco and played extended roles against Burnley last weekend, meaning Rico Lewis could be called upon to split the workload.

Rayan Cherki and his namesake Rayan Ait-Nouri, are both sidelined with injuries, as are Omar Marmoush and Abdukodir Khusanov.

Predicted Man City XI (4-1-4-1): Donnarumma; Nunes, Lewis, Gvardiol, O’Reilly; Rodri; Silva, Reijnders, Foden, Savinho; Haaland

Injured: Cherki, Ait-Nouri, Marmoush, Khusanov
