Man United ‘add’ Lazio midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru to shortlist | OneFootball

Manchester United are considering Lazio midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru as they reshape their midfield.

According to The Laziali, Casemiro has departed and Manuel Ugarte is also on their shortlist, leaving Kobbie Mainoo as the only recognised central midfielder certain to feature next season.

The club have practically secured Ederson after reaching agreements with the Brazil international and Atalanta, yet they still want two further recruits in the middle.

Dele-Bashiru has not established himself as a regular starter in Rome under Marco Baroni or Maurizio Sarri. Both highlighted his physical attributes but urged him to improve his tactical awareness.

He has shown flashes, notably against Atalanta, contributing seven goals and four assists in 57 appearances since joining.

President Claudio Lotito and sporting director Angelo Fabiani have recently asked Gennaro Gattuso to elevate the Nigerian’s game. If a tempting offer arrives, the hierarchy is very likely to sell, with his contract running to June 2028 and his role still secondary.
