Leeds United and Manchester United have issued fresh fitness updates before Monday’s Premier League meeting, with six players ruled out and five doubtful, and four others back. Leeds’ list lengthened after their FA Cup win at West Ham.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Michael Carrick’s side have not played since the Friday before the international break, a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth in which Junior Kroupi’s penalty denied victory. By the 8pm kick-off at Old Trafford, that gap will span 23 days.

United have issues of their own. Winger Patrick Dorgu is back on the grass individually at Carrington and travelled to Dublin for rehabilitation, but involvement would be a major surprise. Harry Maguire is suspended after his red card at Bournemouth, and Matthijs de Ligt, out since November with a back problem, is essentially out with no timescale for a return.

Leeds’ problems deepened in London. Midfielder Anton Stach left the tie in a protective boot and on crutches after an ankle blow, later sharing swelling on social media. He has ankle ligament damage and it is probably more realistic to expect a May return than later this month.

Joe Rodon also sustained an ankle injury and is similarly viewed as a May prospect, with any April appearance considered a bonus. Dan James misses out with an adductor strain sustained before the West Ham match, and is expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks.
