Manchester United are braced for late approaches for Kobbie Mainoo amid interest from a handful of sides.
With just five days remaining to get any summer business over the line, the Red Devils could yet sanction the exit of one of their most coveted academy graduates of the last five+ years.
Mainoo himself has reportedly opened the door to an imminent departure from his boyhood club after being an unused substitute for the first two fixtures of the campaign. If he doesn’t feature in tonight’s EFL Cup clash with League Two outfit Grimsby Town, it’ll just set in stone that Ruben Amorim does not see the player as a key part of his plans.

Of course, such developments have stunned the United faithful, who are despairing that INEOS may facilitate the sale of an exhilarating homegrown product so early into his senior career.
What’s more, he may well end up at a direct Premier League rival; Tottenham Hotspur made an enquiry over Mainoo’s availability earlier in the summer whilst Chelsea did the same back in January.
If the 10-capped England starlet opts to ply his trade abroad for the first time, Mail Sport claims both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid would be keen on taking him on loan for the campaign.
To make matters more concerning for fans, The Athletic have released a report this morning which states the 20-year-old could be available for a staggeringly low price of just £45 million – or potentially less in the build-up to the deadline.
When Chelsea first established their interest in the winter, they were quoted a fee of £70m, but that has since, for some reason, been slashed.
