Manchester United are currently unlikely to bid for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson (h/t journalist Ben Jacobs).
The Red Devils are in the market for a striker to complete their new look attack following the addition of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
Jackson is available for sale after Chelsea signed Joao Pedro and Liam Delap. He may struggle to reclaim his starting berth, and a summer exit has not been ruled out.
Hailed as a ‘big talent’ by former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, Jackson would be a decent pick-up in difficult circumstances.
However, it appears a move to Man Utd is not on the cards for now. RB Leipzig ace Benjamin Sesko could be United’s main target.
Sesko scored 21 goals last season. Highly-touted since his early days, many people expect him to become one of the best strikers of his generation.
Unfortunately, he is still far from fulfilling his promise despite showing glimpses of his incredible talent. His size, athleticism and speed are remarkable.
He is not the finished product and needs time to fine-tune his skills. He may not get that chance at Man Utd, where the spotlight will be on him from the first minute.
Rasmus Hojlund crumbled under that weight of expectation. The Red Devils may be better served finding an established centre-forward to anchor their new-look attack.
The problem is that the market isn’t exactly overflowing with options, but Man Utd can do better than Jackson and Sesko.
