Manchester United are struggling in the final third and the onus is on new manager Ruben Amorim to get the attack firing.
Man United spent £36.5 million to sign Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna last summer.
The club believed Zirkzee would be an excellent addition to the squad, offering a different profile to Rasmus Hojlund.
The Netherlands international enjoyed a dream debut against Fulham, capping his performance with a goal. However, he has failed to score in his last 16 appearances.
ESPN pundit Craig Burley described the forward as ‘absolutely horrendous’ last month.
United made a major mistake by signing Zirkzee over Mathues Cunha.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers striker has been in impressive form this season, bagging seven goals and three assists in 12 Premier League games.
United have been heavily linked with Cunha over the last two years. He was linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer, but United opted to sign Zirkzee.
Five months into the season, the duo are having very different campaigns.
Zirkzee lacks the intensity needed to thrive in the English top flight. Amorim wants dynamic forwards in his 3-4-3 structure who can press from the front.
Zirkzee’s future is in massive doubt, as he is not an ideal player for Amorim.
Cunha would have been a better option, considering his quick acceleration and dribbling skills.
The £37m-rated forward is capable of playing in any position across the front three under Amorim.
