Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on Liam Delap, who is enduring a forgettable first campaign at Chelsea.
The 23-year-old is a youth product of Manchester City, who became one of the best revelations in the Premier League last season after joining Ipswich Town.

With the Tractors relegated back to the Championship, the young striker was available for £30 million, piquing the interest of several suitors who considered it a bargain deal.
At one point, Man Utd were considered the favourites to sign Delap. However, after the Red Devils’ defeat to Tottenham in the Europa League final, the Englishman decided to join Chelsea, citing his desire to play in the Champions League.
Sadly for Delap, his maiden campaign at Stamford Bridge got off to a torrid start. An injury ruled him out of action for several months, and he’s since been struggling to lock himself a starting role. The Winchester native has only scored two goals across all competitions this season.
According to The Daily Briefing, Chelsea are expected to send Delap packing at the end of the season.
The source believes this could open the door for Man Utd to rekindle their interest in the centre-forward, who remains highly valued by Jason Wilcox and other top MUFC officials.
It should be noted that the Man Utd sporting director had overseen the striker’s development during his time at Man City.
Man Utd and Chelsea have recently done business, with Alejandro Garnacho joining the Blues last summer. Therefore, negotiating a deal for Delap cannot be ruled out.
The Red Devils ended up buying Benjamin Sesko for £72 million, but there could be room for another No.9 at Carrington, especially if the club succeeds in reaching the Champions League. It should be noted that Joshua Zirkzee remains unhappy with his reduced status at the club, so a departure remains on the cards.

Nevertheless, The Daily Briefing suggests that giving up on the ‘monster’ striker by selling him to their direct rivals could be a big risk for the West Londoners, who might be more inclined to loan the player out to a mid-table club, with the likes of Everton, Brighton, and Sunderland, ready to accommodate him.
This might arguably be the best solution for the player’s development, as he now looks out of his depth. Moreover, Man Utd already have an up-and-coming striker in Sesko, so it might be best to pair the Slovenian with a more experienced and accomplished striker if INEOS intend to sign a new marksman.
