Before Nuno Mendes signed his contract extension, a report linked Paris Saint-Germain to FC Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde ahead of the summer if the Portuguese defender hadn’t extended.
Journalist Matteo Moretto reported last month that PSG are closely monitoring Balde, but with Mendes now signed long-term, it doesn’t seem likely that the Parisians will be looking to splash a significant amount of money for a left-back that will challenge their starter.
The 21-year-old, whose contract with Barcelona runs until 2028, has a transfer value of €50 million, according to Transfermarkt. So far this season, Balde has made 31 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal and recording six assists.
Although a move to PSG is unlikely, that doesn’t mean other top European clubs aren’t keen on the defender.

GIVE ME SPORT reported on Tuesday, citing sources, that Manchester United are also looking to add a new left wing-back to their squad, just days after signing Patrick Dorgu.
Balde is considered a possible target for the Red Devils, as his dynamism and attacking qualities would boost their play under new manager Ruben Amorim.
