Man Utd travel to Merseyside on Monday evening with familiarity likely to shape their predicted lineup. Michael Carrick has had almost two weeks to prepare for Everton, yet circumstances suggest continuity over experimentation.

The key team news centres on absence rather than return. Mason Mount remains unavailable. The midfielder has not featured since being named in the squad against Arsenal in January, suffering a knock in training before the Fulham fixture and missing every match since. Carrick has urged patience, indicating Mount is close but must return fully fit.

Matthijs de Ligt is also sidelined with a back injury. The defender has not played since November 30 against Crystal Palace and continues his recovery programme. Patrick Dorgu, who injured his hamstring against Arsenal, remains out after rehabilitation work in Dubai.
Mount’s earlier run of 14 consecutive appearances from September to December, which included goals against Sunderland, Palace and Wolves, underlined his importance. De Ligt, meanwhile, had played every Premier League minute before his setback. Their continued absence shapes the Man Utd predicted selection.

Carrick’s options are limited. Stability may offer reassurance in a fixture that demands discipline and structure.
The expected formation remains 4-2-3-1. Lammens should start in goal behind a back four of Dalot, Maguire, Martinez and Shaw. One possible adjustment could see Leny Yoro introduced in defence, though Carrick is likely to retain established partnerships.

In midfield, Mainoo and Casemiro provide balance, control and protection. Ahead of them, Amad, Fernandes and Cunha offer movement and creativity, supporting Mbeumo, who is set to lead the line once more. Benjamin Sesko may again be named among the substitutes.

This Man Utd predicted lineup reflects trust in cohesion. With European qualification ambitions still alive, rhythm matters.
