Former performance analyst for Pep Guardiola, Carles Planchart worked alongside the Catalan coach at FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City before stepping down from his position last season. Their collaboration spanned 18 years. After this long journey together, Carles Planchart believes Pep could use some distance and a brief break.

"It's a personal decision he will have to make. I think a project should last five or six years at most. Not just for him, but for everyone. After that, you need to recharge. As a friend, I would advise him to look for a new project, because he still has a long road ahead. That's why he's stayed at City for so many years: they've treated us like family, they've let us work as if we were at home. He never felt that way at Barça or Bayern." he told Sport.
