In a recent report, Foot Mercato stated that Manchester City are in advanced talks to land Chelsea defender Malo Gusto. It has been mentioned that the Mancunian club are showing interest in recruiting the France international in this summer transfer window.
Gusto enjoyed a good run of form at the West London club as he put in a string of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The French sensation scored three times and secured five assists in 49 matches for the Blues last season across multiple competitions.
The 23-year-old is currently one of the best full-backs in Premier League football. Thus, it is no wonder that Man City are hoping to get a deal done for him later this year.
His current contract at Stamford Bridge will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for the Mancunian giants to sign him on a cut-price deal in this transfer window.

Gusto loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and is a decent crosser as well from the wide areas.
The French talent can engineer some decent chances for his teammates to find the back of the net and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. Gusto is primarily a right-back but can also serve as a left-back or as a right-sided wide player if told to do so. He has got some valuable experience in the Premier League and is well-equipped to make an instant impact at the Mancunian club if they manage to snap him up this summer.
We can expect Gusto to bring more quality and depth to Man City’s backline. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium in the coming seasons.
At 23, Gusto has got his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent option for Man City to consider in this transfer window. He will also help the Mancunian outfit compete for some major honours over the next few years.
