According to SPORT, Manchester City have distanced themselves from rumours linking them with a move for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo.
Despite months of speculation and increasing questions about the Brazilian’s future, City have reportedly made it clear that there is no contact or pursuit of the player at this time.
At 24, Rodrygo was expected to take a decisive step forward in his Real Madrid career. However, the winger’s form has been disappointing this season.
His inconsistency has opened the door to potential replacements, and Real Madrid have been proactive in securing young attacking talents who threaten his place in the squad.
Franco Mastantuono has been signed with the clear intention of reinforcing the right wing, Rodrygo’s main position. Xabi Alonso also appears to see Arda Guler as more of a midfielder, giving further clarity to his attacking structure.

Add to that the expected rise of Endrick, Brahim Diaz’s contract renewal, and the impressive form of Gonzalo Garcia, and the picture becomes more complicated for Rodrygo.
While Manchester City have denied any interest, Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta are believed to be keeping a close eye on Rodrygo’s situation.
However, a move is far from straightforward. Real Madrid are not expected to let the Brazilian go cheaply, and his salary demands could be a major obstacle for any suitor.
As of now, Rodrygo’s entourage insists that his priority remains to stay and succeed at Real Madrid.
The forward remains hopeful that he can turn things around, although his immediate future may hinge on his performance during the Club World Cup and how Alonso continues to shape the team.
For now, there are no concrete offers, but with the summer window fast approaching, Rodrygo’s situation is one to watch closely.
