Manchester City are desperate to bring in defensive reinforcements in the winter transfer window.
Josko Gvardiol, Ruben Dias and John Stones are all injured at the moment, leaving City severely short of options in defence.
According to journalist Miguel Delaney, City are intent on signing Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi this month.
The 25-year-old’s preference had been to wait until the summer, when he would have offers from other clubs.
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in the England international.
However, City are actively seeking a transfer this winter. They are intent on persuading Guehi and Palace to secure a deal, and are prepared to match other offers.
The defender came close to joining Liverpool last summer, but the Eagles blocked the move on deadline day.
It is unclear whether Palace would cash in on their player this month or let him leave on a free at the end of his contract in June.
Guehi has started 25 Premier League matches this season, with five direct goal contributions to his name.
The Palace captain endured a difficult weekend as his team lost 2-1 to sixth-tier Macclesfield in one of the biggest upsets in FA Cup history.
He engaged in heated discussions with the travelling fans after the final whistle.
