After a fantastic result in the first leg, Real Madrid will look to see out Manchester City as the two teams take each other on in the second leg this coming week.

One of the players in focus heading into the second leg battle is Rodri. The Spaniard has been closely linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu lately, as Real Madrid look for reinforcements in the middle of the park.

Speaking after Man City’s recent game against West Ham, Rodri has notably warned Real Madrid, stating that it is a two-legged tie and anything can happen.

However, in the same interview, the Spanish international was also asked about his future, especially amid recent speculation linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

Rodri on his future

Rodri was particularly asked whether or not he will don a new jersey in the coming summer transfer window.

In response, the midfielder remained coy, refusing to talk about his future at a time when Manchester City are looking for a grand comeback.

“No, no. I’m not going to answer that. It’s a time to think about what we have now, with my team, about my season, which is quite a lot, and then we’ll see,” he said (h/t Diario AS).

As mentioned earlier, Rodri remains focused on helping his current team, Man City, secure a comeback and earn a place in the quarterfinals.

The task will be difficult, however, as Man City have not been in great form lately. The Premier League giants have already fallen nine points behind league leaders Arsenal, notably drawing their last two matches.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, are coming on the back of a 4-1 win over Elche, where Arda Guler scored a goal capable of winning the Puskas Award.
