Lecce have indicated that Patrick Dorgu wouldn’t leave in January, but they might receive offers that will be hard to pass, as Juventus and especially Manchester United have joined Napoli in the fray to capture him.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Red Devils have been in touch with his agent and will talk with the Salentini soon. Their bid would have to exceed the €35/40M threshold to be successful in January. Instead, the Partenopei are more open to acquiring him now and leaving him on loan till June.
Juventus have earmarked the Dane as there’s a chance Manchester City will meet their lofty demands for Andrea Cambiaso, TuttoSport informs.
Tottenham and Chelsea have been linked to Dorgu too, but Manchester United and Napoli are leading the pack, while Juventus would be competitive only if they lost their starter. The Azzurri staple was fielded and fared well versus Milan. Things aren’t too advanced at the moment. Director Cristiano Giuntoli stated that they hadn’t received a formal proposal yet.
If Lecce made a 180 and cashed in, the Old Lady would face formidable foes. The Azzurri filled their coffers thanks to the sale of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and have tracked the starlet for months.
Securing his sale now and keeping him would be the best-case scenario for Lecce. Though, it rarely happens in deals of this size. Napoli would use him as an offensive winger to balance out David Neres. He’d be tremendous there. He would be wasted away as a fullback on most clubs, but not in Thiago Motta’s system, which allows frequent channel runs from that position.
