In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Manchester United are locked in a three-way battle for Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams. It has been claimed that the Red Devils would have to compete with Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign the Spanish talent later this year.
Williams managed to catch the eye at times with his performances on the left side of Bilbao’s attack in the previous campaign. The 23-year-old banged in six goals and picked up seven assists in 32 matches for the Spanish outfit last season in various competitions.
The Spanish sensation is currently among the most talented wide players in La Liga. Thus, Man United would do well to win the race for his services this off-season.
His current contract at the Spanish club will run out in the summer of 2035, which could make it difficult for the Red Devils to land him on a cut-price deal in this transfer period.

Williams can use his quickness to cause a lot of headaches for his marker out on the flanks. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and can engineer a few inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.
The Spanish talent is primarily a left-winger but can also fill in as a right-sided wide player if asked to do so by his manager. However, there are some concerns over whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to snap him up later this year.
We can expect Williams to add more pace and goals to Man United boss Michael Carrick’s frontline. He is good enough to challenge for a regular starting role at Old Trafford next season.
At 23, Williams has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Red Devils to pursue later this year. He would be well worth the fight, so Man United should focus on bringing him to the Theatre of Dreams this off-season.
