Benjamin Sesko picked up a knock during Manchester United’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
The 22-year-old was introduced in the 58th-minute, but lasted just 30 minutes following a tackle from Micky van de Ven.
Sesko headed straight down the tunnel after receiving treatment, and United manager Ruben Amorim admitted he was worried about the situation.
When asked about the extent of the striker’s injury, Amorim said: “I have no idea. Because it’s the knee, we never know.
“I’m concerned with the injury because it’s in the knee. We need Ben to be a better team. We have to check everything, we have to check what has happened with Ben.”
Sesko joined United from RB Leipzig for £73.7 million last summer.
Unlike Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Senne Lammens, the Slovenian new arrival has endured a slow start to life at Old Trafford.
He has bagged just two goals and an assist in 11 Premier League appearances. Former United star Gary Neville claimed he was ‘miles off it’ in the 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest.
Sesko is a major threat in the air, can play with both feet and has great technique. He has proven his abilities in Germany with Leipzig, but is still trying to find his feet in England.
However, Amorim will be patient with him and he is expected to come good in time.
