Manchester United boss Skinner signs new two-year deal

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Red Devils this afternoon.
The 42-year-old was set to be out of contract at the Leigh Sports Village this summer but he has been rewarded with a new deal after overseeing a season of progress on the pitch.
Skinner was appointed Manchester United head coach in summer 2021. Under his guidance, Manchester United took the Barclays Women’s Super League title race down to the final day in 2022/2023, qualifying for the UEFA Women’s Champions League for the first time in the process. Skinner won a first major domestic trophy with The Red Devils last season as the club lifted the Adobe Women’s FA Cup. This season, has seen Manchester United cement their place in the Barclays Women’s Super League’s top-three while the club could yet retain the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
After signing on again with Manchester United until summer 2027, Skinner said “It has been an absolute privilege to serve as head coach for this fantastic football club for the past four years, and I am delighted to be extending my time in the role for at least a further two years.
“We are building a young, hungry team with the aim of challenging consistently for further trophies. There is still more hard work ahead, including this season, but the players and staff have already shown their determination to succeed, and I am looking forward to us taking the next steps in our journey together.”
Manchester United are next in action on Sunday 13 April 2025 when they contest an Adobe Women’s FA Cup semi-final at Manchester City.
