Manchester United defender Patrick Dorgu is set to be out for around 10 weeks following a hamstring injury, according to The Athletic.
He could not finish the game against Arsenal on Sunday, and the Red Devils were hoping he had only sustained a cramp.
However, Dorgu could be out for around two months, which is a big blow to interim manager Michael Carrick.
The 21-year-old felt something while chasing a long ball in the second half on Sunday, and scans have confirmed that he has sustained a hamstring injury.
Dorgu had a great game against the Gunners, scoring a half-volley from just outside the box as the Old Trafford club ran out 3-2 winners at the Emirates Stadium.
He was deployed as a left winger in the game and was in fine form. Being without him for the next few games is the last thing Carrick needed.
The Red Devils are currently without the Netherlands centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, who picked up a back injury last month.
Carrick will be forced to make changes, and he will be praying Dorgu returns sooner rather than later.
He has weighed in with three goals and three assists in 22 Premier League games this season
Man United host Fulham on Sunday before games against Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Everton, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Bournemouth.
Dorgu may not be in line for a return until after the March international break, when the Red Devils take on Leeds United on April 11.
They are currently fourth in the Premier League table after 23 games and will need to maintain their form to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
