Two more defenders on the treatment table after Crystal Palace defeat
Manchester United have added two new names to their injury list ahead of some crunch fixtures in the race to qualify for the Champions League.
The Red Devils now sit third in the Premier League after beating Crystal Palace 2-1, but must visit Newcastle on Wednesday night before hosting Aston Villa on Sunday.
Michael Carrick will know all too well that both those matches are must-wins, but he may be without the services of Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire for one or both matches.
The pair both came off against Palace, with Carrick confirming at full-time that neither was fully fit.
It adds to United’s defensive selection headaches, with Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez both on the treatment table, too.
With that said, here is all the latest Manchester United injury news and potential return dates...
Luke Shaw started for United against Crystal Palace, as he has done in every other Manchester United match this season, but his luck caught up with him as he was withdrawn midway through the first half.
He came off worse from a fifty-fifty with Daniel Munoz just 24 minutes into the match, catching a stud to the top of his left boot, and promptly went down to receive treatment. He was then withdrawn in favour of Noussair Mazraoui.
Speaking at full-time, Carrick said Shaw “just [wasn’t] feeling too well so hopefully [he] will be feeling better soon."
Potential return date: Unknown

Harry Maguire played 85 minutes as United beat Crystal Palace on Sunday and seemed spent as he walked off to be replaced by Ayden Heaven.
It came as a surprise, then, when Carrick revealed at full-time that he had not been 100 per cent for the match.
Explaining his decision to withdraw the England star, he gave a cryptic explanation: “[Maguire] just [wasn’t] feeling too well, so hopefully [he] will be feeling better soon."
Carrick is expected to provide a more detailed update on Maguire’s condition when he previews Wednesday’s match against Newcastle.
Potential return date: Unknown
Mason Mount has not played for United since making a brief cameo appearance in last month’s Manchester derby.
Fans were surprised to see him left out of the squad to face Fulham two weeks later, with Carrick revealing he had picked up an injury in training.
But it was revealed this week that the forward had returned to first-team training and was closing in on a return to play.
“Mason is getting closer,” Carrick said ahead of the Crystal Palace match.
“He’s on the grass and looking at being around it pretty soon. We’re just having to be patient, so we’re looking after him and making sure he’s ready for a big finish to the season.”
Potential return date: March 15 vs Aston Villa (H)

Lisandro Martinez was not named to the matchday squad to face Crystal Palace as he continues to recover from a calf injury sustained ahead of this month’s defeat of Everton.
Speaking after revealing that injury, Carrick predicted he would miss one or two weeks and offered a vague update ahead of beating Palace.
"We will have to wait and see,” he explained. “He is close and he is not far away, but it is hard to say at the moment."
Wednesday’s trip to face Newcastle may come too soon for him to return, though he will be targeting a comeback next weekend.

Matthijs de Ligt has been absent since November, when he picked up a lower back injury in a defeat of Crystal Palace.
He is yet to return to training, though, and he does not seem close to doing so as Carrick continues to preach patience.
“It’s part of football unfortunately, so we’ll get him back when we can,” Carrick explained.
“It's just the nature of the issue really. It’s a difficult one to pin down a timeline.
“He’s definitely improving, so we're just working towards that really. I can’t give you more at this stage.”

Patrick Dorgu was struck down with a hamstring injury just as he was finding form under Michael Carrick.
He fell while chasing a loose ball not long after scoring a stunning goal in United’s defeat of Arsenal.
It was later reported that he had torn his hamstring and was facing around ten weeks out.

Carrick concurred: “Pat, unfortunately, is going to be out for a period of time. We are still working through how long that is going to be.
“It’s disappointing because he has had such a big couple of weeks. We weren't sure if it was a little bit of cramp or if it was something more serious.”
Carrick has not updated his prognosis recently, but Brian Reimer, head coach of the Denmark national team, has.
Speaking last week, he suggested Dorgu could be available for selection in the March international break.
He said: “I know that Patrick has a dream to be ready.
"I will only help him keep that dream alive as long as the opportunity exists."
