Manchester United are interested in signing former Liverpool star Neco Williams, per BBC Sport.
Williams rose through the Reds’ youth ranks to make 33 senior appearances before joining Nottingham Forest in 2022.
He has featured in 160 games and scored four goals for the club.
The Tricky Trees endured a turbulent 2025-26 season, sacking three managers and finishing 16th in the Premier League table.
However, the 25-year-old continued his impressive form, making 53 appearances across all competitions and recording six direct goal contributions.
Williams’ performances have caught United’s attention, and they could make a move before the end of the summer transfer window.
They face competition from Newcastle United.
Although midfield remains the biggest area for improvement, Man Utd are also in the market for a new left-back due to Luke Shaw’s persistent injury issues.
They have identified Lewis Hall as their primary target, but Newcastle are reluctant to sell him this summer.
Securing a deal for Williams is not expected to be easy.
Forest are keen to keep the 25-year-old at the City Ground. He has three years left on his contract, and the club are looking to tie him down to an improved deal.
