Rashford has been on loan at Barcelona from Man United since the beginning of the campaign and has weighed in with ten goals in 34 appearances across all competitions, also registering 13 assists so far.

The aforementioned report states that Rashford’s financial package was said to be a stumbling block that could have blocked a permanent deal.

However, it is claimed that a meeting between Barcelona sporting director, Deco, and Arturo Canales, Rashford's agent, has proven successful with the club now set to trigger the option to sign for forward for £26millon.

When asked in late 2025 if he wanted to stay at Barcelona, Rashford told ESPN: "Oh yeah, for sure.

"I'm enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game. For a player it's an honour."

Rashford is expected to be one of several players bidding farewell to Man Utd in the summer as the club are preparing for a flurry of business in terms of incomings and outgoings.

Earlier in the week it was reported that United had agreed their first deal for the summer with back-up goalkeeper Altay Bayindir set to join Beskitas.

Fanatik claim Bayindir will make the switch back to Turkey when the transfer window reopens for €5m (£4.3m), thus earning Man Utd a £30.3m windfall when factoring in Rashford’s potential sale.
