Off the back of respective losses in their most recent outings, Crystal Palace and Manchester United will both seek to return to winning ways in Sunday’s Premier League clash.

The hosts relinquished a 1-0 lead against Strasbourg on the European scene in midweek, while the visitors were beaten by 10-man Everton last time out.

Having picked up four wins and a draw from their five outings leading up to Thursday’s trip to France, Palace looked set to continue their upturn in form as they headed into the interval narrowly ahead thanks to Tyrick Mitchell’s opener 10 minutes before the interval.

However, second-half goals from Emmanuel Emegha and Samir El Mourabet saw Oliver Glasner’s men head back to South London empty-handed.

With little time to dwell on their continental disappointment, the Eagles are back on domestic duty against an opposing outfit without a goal or a victory in the last four editions of this fixture.

Despite being five places higher in the Premier League table, Sunday’s hosts are only two points clear of their visitors and will be leapfrogged in the standings should they suffer defeat this weekend.

Like Palace, United also headed into their last involvement on a run of five games unbeaten, albeit with the last two ending in draws from winning positions.

Idrissa Gueye’s early red card for an altercation with teammate Michael Keane was supposed to aid the Red Devils’ quest for maximum points.

However, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall struck just shy of the half-hour mark to silence Old Trafford, and Ruben Amorim’s men were unable to come up with a response despite their numerical advantage.

United have dropped down to 10th as a result, although they are just three points shy of the top four ahead of their trip to the capital.

Both of Sunday’s opponents have opened the scoring in five of their last six matches and will be keen to make another fast start to proceedings here.
