According to Sky Sports News, Manchester United are targeting a potential move for Christopher Nkunku (27) from Chelsea during the winter transfer window. New boss Ruben Amorim is looking to bolster his squad and the France international attacking midfielder has been identified as a potential option.

Despite interest from their divisional rivals, a deal would be complicated with Chelsea unwilling to let the PSG academy graduate leave Stamford Bridge for less than £70m. The two clubs could find a solution, however, with the West London club holding an interest in Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho, L’Équipe understands.

Competition from Bayern

United are not the only club showing an interest in Nkunku. The 27-year-old has been linked with a return to Germany. Bayern Munich have expressed an interest in signing the Frenchman, and the Bundesliga club have agreed personal terms with the Chelsea attacking midfielder. A move to Germany would likely materialise in the summer.
