Manchester United are exploring a potential swap deal involving Bayern Munich’s Aleksandar Pavlovic and Marcus Rashford, according to CaughtOffside. With financial constraints limiting their summer budget, the club sees Pavlovic as a key part of their long-term midfield rebuild. As CaughtOffside reports, “Man United are believed to view the young midfielder as a key figure they could build their squad around in the coming years.”

The 20-year-old Bayern midfielder has been on United’s radar for some time, and his composure, technical ability, and tactical awareness make him an attractive option. However, Bayern Munich will not let him leave cheaply, meaning United would need to offer a substantial fee on top of Rashford to finalise any potential agreement.

For United, the pursuit of Aleksandar Pavlovic signals a shift towards long-term squad building. The midfield has been a weak spot for some time, and Pavlovic’s intelligence, passing range, and ability to control tempo could be exactly what United need.

However, the potential departure of Marcus Rashford remains a divisive issue. While his form at United has been inconsistent, his performances at Villa suggest he still has plenty to offer. If United decide to use Rashford as leverage in a swap deal, they must ensure they get a fair valuation, particularly given Pavlovic’s growing stature at Bayern.

Another concern is whether this deal aligns with United’s long-term vision. Swapping an experienced Premier League forward for a promising but relatively untested midfielder is a significant gamble.
