Man Utd set to welcome back Brazilian with chance to clinch Champions League qualification
Michael Carrick must decide whether to hand an immediate recall to Matheus Cunha as Manchester United take on Liverpool this weekend.
Cunha missed Man United’s 2-1 win over Brentford on Monday night due to a sore hip flexor, but took part in training on Thursday and is set to be available for selection.
If passed fit and selected to start at Old Trafford, the Brazilian could replace Amad Diallo on the left-hand side of Man Utd’s attacking midfield trio behind Benjamin Sesko.
That said, United did have joy playing without a recognised striker in the reverse fixture against Liverpool earlier in the season, so Cunha could be an option through the middle.
Elsewhere, Luke Shaw is a doubt after being forced off against Brentford. An update on the left-back is expected to be provided in the pre-match press conference, with Noussair Mazraoui and the fit-again Patrick Dorgu on standby.

Doubtful: Luke Shaw
Matthijs de Ligt remains sidelined with a back issue and Lisandro Martinez serves the last of a three-match suspension for his red card against Leeds.
Leny Yoro, returned from injury as a second half substitute against the Bees, and could replace youngster Ayden Heaven as Harry Maguire’s central defensive partner as Man United target a win to seal Champions League qualification.
Kobbie Mainoo is expected to make his first appearance since signing a new contract, partnering Casemiro in central midfield. The Brazil international will have a point to prove after struggling in the corresponding fixture last season.
Bruno Fernandes is set to captain the side as he bids to equal the Premier League assists record which is currently jointly-held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne (20).
Doubts: Shaw, Cunha
Injured: De Ligt
Suspended: Martinez
