Manchester United’s data department love Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams and are hoping the Red Devils sign him, according to the Daily Mail’s Nathan Salt.

Man United want to strengthen in the middle of the park at the Old Trafford club this summer as they prepare for life without Casemiro.

Manuel Ugarte is also expected to leave and Adams remains on the Red Devils’ radar despite not being a top target.

The 27-year-old ‘great leader’ has been one of the best players in his position this term, and Man United’s analysts are huge admirers.

“United’s data department love Tyler Adams,” claimed Salt.

“Anybody you speak to says he scores highly on this metric and that metric. They are adamant that statistically the analytics show that he is really good and they have liked him for a while.

“He is one name that I don’t think is going to go away until United get their business done. I’m not saying they’ll get him, but if he was the first one through the door, you would have people having meltdowns.”

Adams has featured in 22 league games for Bournemouth this term, weighing in with two goals and two assists.

The Cherries could qualify for next season’s Champions League and the Man United target has been a key player for them this term.

Tackles and interceptions are some of his biggest strengths, and his leadership ability could also come in handy for the Red Devils.

Man United have been linked with the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba, Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton in the position.

However, Adams could be a cheaper target as around £40 million is likely to be enough to sign him.

Man United fans will prefer a big-name and big-money signing, but their data department know better and recruiting the services of the American could prove to be a master stroke.
