Manuel Neuer, 40, has signed a one-year contract extension with Bayern Munich on Friday, keeping him at the club until 2027. It sets up his sixteenth season with the Bavarians.
The move had been anticipated this week, with Sky Sports Germany suggesting on Wednesday that the extension was coming and also noting that Jonas Urbig could be handed more minutes. The signing comes on the eve of Bayern's final Bundesliga fixture, against Cologne on Saturday at 15:30.
Neuer joined Bayern in 2011 and remained first choice in the decisive moments this season, including the Champions League semi-final against PSG, 4-5, 1-1.
He made 21 Bundesliga starts and 11 in the Champions League.
Sven Ulreich, Neuer's long-standing deputy, has also extended his deal until 2027. The 37-year-old made one appearance in each competition this season, the Bundesliga, the German Cup and the Champions League.
