Earlier this month, Real Madrid fans were delighted when the club confirmed the signing of Marc Cucurella from Chelsea. The 27-year-old, who is currently with Spain at the 2026 World Cup, will put pen to paper on a six-year contract later this summer, marking a return to Spanish football that has been five years in the making.

It was no surprise that there was a lot of joy among the Real Madrid fanbase when Cucurella’s signing was announced, as he is generally considered to be one of the best left-backs in the world. And already, he has endeared himself to the supporters further with recent comments he made regarding a possible Barcelona tattoo.

Cucurella gave an interview to El Chiringuito recently, and one of the questions he was asked related to receiving a Barcelona tattoo. The Real Madrid man, who came through the ranks at La Masia, quickly dismissed the suggestion, stating that he would rather part ways with his infamous afro hairstyle than have the Barcelona badge inked on his body.

“I would rather go bald than get a Barca tattoo.”

Cucurella opens up on Champions League dream

Cucurella was also asked about what he’s most excited about with his move to Real Madrid, and his answer was clear: he wants to win the Champions League.

“I think that winning the Champions League above all, is what I’m most excited about. I watched Real Madrid’s documentary about the last Champions League run. It always seems like nothing will happen, but they know something will happen, that they’re going to pull a remontada. Living it must be beautiful.”

Cucurella will surely have many chances to win European football’s premier competition during the next six years of his Real Madrid contract, especially if Jose Mourinho manages to get Los Blancos back to their best after two lull seasons.
