Marco Antônio, 1970 World Cup winner, hospitalised in Rio

Marco Antônio, a 1970 World Cup-winning left-back with the Seleção, has been hospitalised in serious condition at Caxias D'Or in Rio's Baixada Fluminense.
According to Globo.com, he has been dealing with health complications, has lost significant weight, and was admitted on Wednesday. A health bulletin has been requested from Rede D'Or.
He is the father of Marcelo Salles, one of Renato Gaúcho's assistants at Vasco. The squad travel to Belém, Pará, on Thursday afternoon to face Remo in the Brasileirão on Saturday.
Marco Antônio is an idol at Fluminense, where he spent eight years. He emerged at Portuguesa Santista and also played for Vasco, Bangu and Botafogo.
He also played at the 1974 finals. He featured in 52 games for the Seleção and scored one goal.
