Marco Rose has been confirmed as the next head coach of AFCBournemouth, with the German set to take over this summer following the departure of Andoni Iraola.

The Cherries announced earlier this month that Iraola would leave the Vitality Stadium at the end of the campaign after opting not to extend his contract, prompting the club to begin their search for a successor. Bournemouth have now acted swiftly to secure Rose’s services, handing the 49-year-old a three-year deal ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Rose arrives following spells in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach. Known for his energetic style of play and ability to develop young talent, he will be tasked with building on the progress made under Iraola on the south coast.

The German has been out of management since leaving Leipzig last year and will now prepare for his first experience in English football when he officially steps into the role this summer.

Bournemouth’s hierarchy are understood to have considered several candidates during their search, including Kieran McKenna and Iñigo Pérez, but ultimately identified Rose as their preferred choice.

The Cherries are currently sitting eighth in the table and firmly in contention for a possible European place.
