Marco Silva assembles Benfica backroom team as Fulham staff return | OneFootball

Benfica have confirmed Marco Silva’s backroom team for 2026/27, with several former Fulham colleagues joining alongside existing staff.

Record writes that Fernando Ferreira and Bruno Mendes are returning to the club after working with Silva in England, while Ricardo Rocha stays on.

Gonçalo Santos and Ricardo Rocha will serve as assistant coaches. Gonçalo Pedro will lead the first team’s physical preparation. Francisco Costa joins as assistant and analyst after three seasons at Fortuna Sittard, having also worked at FC Porto.

Bruno Mendes takes charge of performance, returning to a set-up he knows well after more than a decade at Benfica between 2005/06 and 2017/18. Fernando Ferreira will oversee the goalkeepers.

Pre-season begins on 25 June at Benfica Campus, giving the new staff little time to settle. It will be Silva’s first on-field session with the squad as plans for 2026/27 take shape.
