Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi (28) is increasingly open to joining a Premier League rival this summer as he weighs up his options ahead of the expiry of his contract, BBC Sport has reported.

The 28-year-old will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season and has been permitted to speak to clubs outside England since 1 January. Interest from Europe has been strong, with Juventus among those reportedly monitoring his situation, but no pre-contract agreement has yet been reached.

With his future still unresolved, Senesi’s camp is now understood to be more receptive to staying in England, with Chelsea, Manchester United and relegation-threatened Tottenham all linked with a potential move. The defender has become a key figure under head coach Andoni Iraola and was involved again on Saturday as Bournemouth claimed an impressive 2-1 win away at Arsenal.

Despite his importance to the squad, Bournemouth are braced for his departure. The club have made three separate contract offers in an attempt to keep him, but sources suggest Senesi is likely to leave when the season ends.

The Argentina international has developed into a reliable presence at the heart of Bournemouth’s defence, and with no transfer fee required, he is expected to attract further interest as the summer window approaches.
