Manchester United’s hopes of cashing in on Marcus Rashford have received a significant boost if the latest reports are to be believed.

No longer in United’s plans, Rashford is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Barcelona yet to act

Although his dream move is believed to be to Camp Nou, Barcelona have yet to commit to the transfer. The Spanish champions are known to be in the market for a left-sided winger.

Their pursuit of Nico Williams collapsed, while Liverpool dismissed their interest in Luis Díaz. Rashford has now emerged as their most realistic option.

While Barca are expected to make a move sooner rather than later, their continued indecision means they run the risk of missing out on the transfer altogether.

Bayern ready to press ahead with Rashford swoop

According to a report relayed recently by The Peoples Person, Bayern Munich are monitoring the Mancunian and regard him as a brilliant attacking option, appreciated for his versatility (capable of playing off the left or as a striker).

Although it was not entirely clear whether the German giants see him as a primary target.

Caught Offside now position them as a serious contender in the Rashford transfer chase, amid frustration in their hunt for other targets.

“Bayern Munich (are) now seen as one of the most serious contenders,” they claim.

Dream move or perfect Munich reunion?

Even with Bayern’s desire to offer the 27-year-old an Old Trafford escape route, one would ask: would Rashford truly consider such a switch, given his long-standing preference for Barca?

According to Caught Offside, a reunion with former England teammate Harry Kane in Munich could appeal to him:

“(Rashford) has previously made Barca his priority, and he remains keen on a move abroad, with the feeling being that he’d be open to joining Bayern.”

It will be interesting to see if these developments force Barca’s hand.

INEOS hopeful for movement

INEOS, meanwhile, will be hoping Bayern convert their renewed interest into a formal offer.

A £40 million fee could be enough to finally provide Rashford with the fresh start he is believed to be craving.

At the Allianz Arena, he would not just be playing on one of football’s grandest stages; he could also play himself into Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
