Manchester United decided to move Marcus Rashford on following the Mancunian’s spat with Ruben Amorim following the Manchester derby snub.

The Englishman subsequently announced his intention to quit his boyhood club and after negotiations with Barcelona failed to advance, he ended up moving to Aston Villa on loan.

He has made five appearances for the Villans so far, managing two assists while impressing with his hard work and dedication both on and off the pitch.

Unai Emery’s team have the option of making his loan deal permanent in the summer for £40 million and based on the start he has had, the team from Birmingham might just trigger that option.

Rashford rejuvenated at Villa

However, the former United No 10 has made no secret of his desire to move to La Liga and even asked his agents to try and secure a summer move to Barcelona.

The England international had revealed during his unveiling interview with the Villa media team that he was at Villa Park for the short term and wanted to make the most of his opportunities.

The player still feels should he recapture the form he had shown during Erik ten Hag’s first season in charge, the Catalan giants will come in for him. There is also reported interest from Bayern Munich.

But The Sun have now claimed that Rashford is open to staying at Villa as he looks to reclaim his spot in the England national team with Thomas Tuchel a big admirer of his talents.

And the 27-year-old feels Emery’s system and tactics can get the best out of him and an extended stay now looks likely.

“Marcus Rashford is prepared to turn his January loan move to Aston Villa into a permanent deal. He has also impressed his team-mates, his new manager and Villa’s fans since his arrival in the West Midlands.

Hoping for permanent stay

“And the striker, desperate to reclaim his spot in the England squad under new Three Lions chief Thomas Tuchel, believes that Unai Emery is the perfect manager to resurrect his Premier League and international career.

“Rashford has been linked with a number of moves abroad, with European giants Barcelona and PSG heading a list including clubs in Italy, Germany and Saudi Arabia all monitoring his form ahead of the summer window.

“But Rashford is veering towards the idea of remaining in England and in the Premier League rather than relocating overseas.”

There is very little chance of Rashford returning to Manchester after his falling out with the coach and the new co-owners.

Whether he can improve his form remains to be seen while Villa’s ability to match his wage demands moving forwards is another major doubt.
