Hooked at half-time

The United man got his first full debut for the Catalans as he was named in the starting line up versus Levante.

His biggest impact came early on when he broke free and from a wide angle, fired the ball at the opposition keeper.

He occasionally showed some nice trickery to beat the Levante defence but it did not end up in anything substantial.

In fact, his team suffered going 0-2 down in the first half, in spite of having 85% possession of the ball.

Rashford completed 100% of his passes and made two key ones with one shot on target.

Nonetheless, he only completed one out of four crossing attempts and won just 40% of his aerial and ground duels.

As a result, he was ruthlessly hooked at half-time and replaced by Dani Olmo.

The change worked wonders as Barca levelled the game after just seven minutes of second half action and found a winner in stoppage time.

Flick’s concerning words

The German coach has been a big proponent of Rashford’s move to Barcelona but he did not seem overly impressed with his new signing’s contribution.

Speaking after the game against Levante the German coach claimed (in comments carried by talkSPORT), “I think they were the right changes to make. The first goal after the break changed the game.”

United fans will hope that the England international can earn the faith of the boss once again as he has no future under Ruben Amorim and the club would benefit financially from Barcelona making his loan deal permanent next summer.
