Barcelona summer signing Marcus Rashford has late this week spoken out on his future with the club.
This of course comes fresh off the Englishman’s finest night in Blaugrana colours to date on Thursday.
After Barcelona made the trip to St. James’ Park for a Champions League showdown with Newcastle United, Rashford proved himself the star of the show.
After first opening the scoring courtesy of a fine header, the on-loan Manchester United man soon followed up with a stunning strike from distance, to guide his teammates to a 2-1 triumph in their European season opener.
Swiftly following in the media has been inevitable chatter surrounding Rashford’s long-term prospects in Catalunya’s capital.
As much comes with the 27-year-old’s loan terms due to expire next summer.
If the latest comment on the part of the player himself are anything to go by, though, then Rashford appears fully focused on convincing Joan Laporta and co. to make his signing a permanent one:
“I want to stay as long as possible at Barcelona. I have to focus on doing my job, helping the team in any way I can. I can feel the confidence that Flick has given me. I knew he was great before I signed, but working with him is a real pleasure.”
