Christmas is coming, and there’s a bit of a dark cloud at Chelsea.
Enzo Maresca’s comments after the win over Everton last weekend about the lack of support he felt in the club have created a weird mood at a crucial time, and it was important that the Chelsea coach tried to move on from that.

Enzo Maresca has a tense moment in his press conference.
In his press conference today he was asked whether he had a message for the fans, and he went for one of unity:
“[They should] continue to support the team in the way you have done since I joined the club and also in the past,” said Maresca in quotes on the club’s official website.
“Just trust the process from the team, the club and from everyone. Absolutely, [there is still a lot to achieve],’ our head coach explained.”
“The other day we achieved our third semi-final in 18 months. Last season, again, was good in terms of trophies, and we finished fourth in the Premier League.
“We brought the club back to the Champions League and the target is to improve upon what we did last season.”
It’s funny that he tells the fans to “trust the process,” as his comments the other day seemed to be very much doubting the process. But it’s clear he’s making a big effort to keep supporters onside, and that’s noted.
Both Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho are scoring and assisting pretty effectively this season, and Maresca spoke a bit about improving them in his presser today.
Liam Delap’s injury looked pretty bad when he came off against Bournemouth – but according to Maresca’s presser, the striker could be back as soon as next week, when we play Aston Villa.
