Olympique de Marseille are weighing a new No.10 in January and, according to L’Équipe, OGC Nice’s Sofiane Diop is among the options.

OM have discussed the position internally in recent weeks, with multiple profiles being considered.

Matt O’Riley, Angel Gomes, Arthur Vermeeren and Darryl Bakola have all featured as the No.10 this season, but none has made the role their own.

Diop, 25, was omitted from Morocco’s Africa Cup of Nations squad, so he would be available at the start of January and for Ligue 1’s return after a short winter break.

He can also operate out wide, offering additional flexibility to Marseille’s attack.

His contract at Nice runs until 2027.
