Marseille have enquired about Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford (27) and Bayern Munich centre-forward Mathys Tel (19), according to a report from L’Equipe. The Roberto De Zerbi-led Ligue 1 are expected to dip in the strikers’ market as Elye Wahi closes in on a move to Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt. Talks are reportedly well-advanced with Dino Toppmöller’s side, identifying Wahi as the ideal replacement for Manchester City-bound Omar Marmoush.
Currently, Marseille can only rely on one senior centre-forward in Neal Maupay. Les Phocéens and their Sporting director Medhi Benatia have enquired about Tel, who has been a long-term target for Chelsea FC. The Rennes Academy target is tied with Bayern over a contract set to expire in 2029. L’Equipe understands that the French centre-forward should have more minutes in the second half of the season.
Marseille have reportedly shown an interest in Rashford. The England international seems no longer part of Ruben Amorim’s plans and is expected to leave the Red Devils, with which is under contract until 2028. Marseille are considering loan deals for either Tel or Rashford.
