According to a report from La Provence, Olympique de Marseille have reportedly set a price tag of around €20m for English winger Jonathan Rowe (22). The Englishman joined OM last summer on loan from Norwich with an obligation to buy activated earlier this transfer window. Rowe’s valuation has reportedly been set in view of unlocking funds for a move for Club Bruges’ Ecuadorian defender Joel Ordonez. This is in the context of significant interest from Turkish clubs Besiktas and Fenerbahçe, as well as Italian sides AS Roma and Atalanta (as reported previously by Foot Mercato). Stade Rennais was also linked with Rowe but recently withdrew from the race after discussions with the player’s camp – leaving the Turkish and Italian clubs as primary contenders. Premier League sides are also attentive to the Englishman’s situation. Rowe has impressed during pre-season following a strong Euro U21 campaign with England over the summer. After initially impressing, Rowe found it difficult to find a regular starting spot last season – but still managed 30 appearances and scored three goals during the last campaign. “I’ve managed to turn it around – but the competition is really high here,” said Rowe in an interview with Get French Football News in May. “I still believe in myself, and the manager is starting to see that again. I just look forward to seeing what can happen from here on out.”GFFN | George Boxall
