Ahead of Arsenal’s game against Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday, Martin Odegaard shared an update on his injury situation in his pre-match programme notes.
“I would love to be involved (against Brighton), but I’m still working on my recovery,” Odegaard began.
“It’s going well and I’m progressing a lot. I’ve started moving around more and I’ve been running on the anti-gravity machine this week. It’s good to feel that it’s going in the right direction and that I can do more and more each day when I come into Sobha.
“It’s hard work, and it’s nice to feel progression – it gives you more motivation.”

There’s still no expectation that Odegaard will be back before the November international break, especially as there are now just nine days until Arsenal’s final pre-break fixture.
But supporters will be hopeful that there’s a possibility Odegaard could return for the first match after the break, which happens to be the north London derby match against Tottenham Hotspur.
Arsenal also play Bayern Munich at home and Chelsea away during that same week, so it would be a fantastic time to have their captain back in the lineup. Yet the Gunners won’t want to rush Odegaard’s recovery, given how stop-start his season has already been.

When Odegaard has been available this season, he’s often looked like one of the best players on the pitch. Days before his injury against West Ham, the 26-year-old was the star of the show in the Champions League win over Olympiacos.
Yet Odegaard’s appearances have often been cut short, with three of his four Premier League starts ending in a substitution before half-time.
The Arsenal captain has only completed two matches this season, and it will be at least another few weeks before he has the chance to return to the team.
