A massive decision has been made. It will tear up Liverpool's €35m transfer plan.

Liverpool are building their transfer plans ahead of the summer window. They've certainly got work to do, too, after a disappointing season on the back of their biggest-ever spend.

Biggest-ever by far, in fact.

It was a window that should have improved on a title-winning group. Instead, things have moved backwards and that almost certainly means investing further in order to get things back on track.

Reports about potential transfers are certainly developing and it's becoming somewhat clear that Liverpool have specific positions in mind. However, one of their potential targets may now be off the market for now.

And that would change things.

The Brazilian season runs for the calendar year, with things ending in December with the Copa Libertadores final. Palmeiras would apparently like Allan to remain with them for the entirety of their campaign.

And that does make sense. Few could argue if they did want to go down that road and Allan's value would likely hold until 2027. Perhaps even increase, should he enjoy a top season.

At the same time, this might simply be a tactic to strengthen their negotiation position against teams like Liverpool. If they hold true, though, the Reds will be left looking for someone else to fill their right flank.
