Real Madrid will face off against Kairat at the Almaty Central Stadium this Tuesday night as they look to secure a good result on the road in the UEFA Champions League. Los Blancos suffered a disappointing 5-2 defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid in the Madrid derby recently, so they would be eager to put in a much-improved showing in midweek.

Xabi Alonso will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation once again and is expected to make a few changes to his first team for this clash. Franco Mastantuono, Fran Garcia and Raul Asencio could all play from the start of this game.

Defence

Thibaut Courtois will feature in goal for Los Blancos after conceding five goals in his last appearance. Dean Huijsen will operate alongside Alvaro Carreras at the centre of the Real Madrid backline as they look to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.

Raul Asencio will play as the right-back, while Fran Garcia looks to prove his worth on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to go forward and join in on the attack at every opportunity they get.

David Alaba will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde will operate as the holding midfielders for Los Blancos as they try to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park.

The gifted trio of Vinicius Junior, Arda Guler and Franco Mastantuono will play just ahead of them as part of Alonso’s attack. All three of them need to combine well if Real Madrid are to secure a convincing win this Tuesday night.

Eduardo Camavinga and Rodrygo will have to settle for a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second half if required.

Attack

Kylian Mbappe will spearhead Alonso’s attack up top. He has to find a way to be a constant menace in the final third.

Gonzalo Garcia will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Los Blancos are in need of a goal by then.
