Celtic knew what they had to do and they did just that in the final league phase match of the UEFA Europa League with a 4-2 win over FC Utrecht.
Benjamin Nygren opened the scoring before an own goal and an Arne Engels penalty soon had the Celts 3-0 up. Goals in each half from the visitors brought it back to 3-2, but a header by Auston Trusty in the 66th minute solidified the Hoops’ lead and eased Celtic into the play-offs.
