Liverpool host Fulham at 5:30 this Saturday, with Arne Slot’s men hoping to respond after a poor display in the Champions League midweek. The performance in Paris was not something the Dutchman should be proud of, Liverpool did not manage a single shot on target.
Slot said: “If there might be anything positive from PSG, it is that we faced the champions of Europe and we weren’t at our level that night, but in four or five days we can show we are much more competitive.”
Form Guide…
Fulham’s recent form has been inconsistent, picking up two wins in their last five games. Despite this, they sit ninth in the league standings and still have a good shot at European football next season.
The reverse fixture at Craven Cottage earlier in the season provided plenty of drama. Cody Gakpo thought he had snatched all three points with a goal in the 94th minute, just for Harrison Reed to equalise three minutes later with the last kick of the game.
Fulham are unbeaten in their last three games against the Reds, a side that Arne Slot has failed to win against during his tenure at the club. The last win for Liverpool was a 3–1 win away from home at the end of the 23/24 season.
Slot was full of praise for the opposition. The Dutchman said that the game last season was “probably one of the best games we played that season; twice we were a goal down.”
The hosts are now on a three-game streak of losses and have only one win in their last seven matches. The last win Liverpool picked up at home in the league was all the way back in February, which was a 5-2 triumph over West Ham.

Robertson’s farewell…
With the recent announcement of Andy Robertson leaving the club, the Scotsman will be hoping to get his farewell tour off to a perfect start this weekend. Robertson has not started a game since the 1–1 draw at home to Tottenham in March.
Slot was quick to give the left-back his flowers: “He had many great seasons over here as a player, but I think people got to know him as a great person as well.”
He added, “What I remember most about him is the intensity he is always playing with”
“He has won everything here, really loves the club; it has been a great nine years at the club”
“But we saw this season, he didn’t play as much and as a result of that, he is leaving”
“It is difficult to be in that position longer than a season. Every player wants to play as much regular first-team football as possible”
Injury Updates…
Slot also gave some injury updates. Joe Gomez and Jeremie Frimpong are concerns due to their “previous fitness issues.”
The manager also explained that “not all of our players are capable of playing another intense game in a few days, so let’s see what the line-up brings.”
Alisson remains out, but the Brazilian is “working hard to get his way back.”
